What the vulnerability does
The W2S – Migrate WooCommerce to Shopify plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Arbitrary File Read in all versions up to, and including, 1.2.1 via the 'viw2s_view_log' AJAX action. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to read the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can contain sensitive information.
Explanation of Vulnerability in Simple Terms
W2S – Migrate WooCommerce to Shopify versions 1.2.1 and earlier contain an external input validation flaw that allows authenticated users to read sensitive data from the affected site. The vulnerability requires a valid user account but no additional user interaction. Site administrators should update to a version newer than 1.2.1 to remediate this issue.
