What the vulnerability does
The Import WP – Export and Import CSV and XML files to WordPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Sensitive Information Exposure in all versions up to, and including, 2.14.5 via the uploads directory. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to extract sensitive data stored insecurely in the /wp-content/uploads/ directory which can contain information like imported or local user data and files.
Explanation of Vulnerability in Simple Terms
The Import WP plugin for WordPress versions 2.14.5 and earlier exposes sensitive information to unauthenticated attackers over the network. An attacker can read data without needing to log in or interact with a site administrator. The vulnerability stems from insufficient access controls on data exposure endpoints. Site administrators should update immediately to a version newer than 2.14.5.
