What the vulnerability does
Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (XSS or 'Cross-site Scripting') vulnerability in Themewinter Eventin allows Stored XSS.This issue affects Eventin: from n/a through 3.3.57.
Explanation of Vulnerability in Simple Terms
Eventin versions up to 3.3.57 contain a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability that allows authenticated users to inject malicious scripts. The vulnerability requires user interaction and affects the scope beyond the vulnerable component. An attacker with low-level access can craft a malicious link or page that, when visited by another user, executes arbitrary JavaScript in their browser.
What an attacker can do
Inject and execute malicious JavaScript in other users' browsers to steal session tokens, redirect users, or deface content.
Potential impact on your site
Authenticated users can be compromised; session hijacking and account takeover are possible if an attacker crafts and distributes malicious links.
Conditions required to exploit
Attacker must have a low-level user account and trick another user into clicking a malicious link or visiting a crafted page.
