Explanation of Vulnerability in Simple Terms
CP Polls versions 1.0.74 and earlier contain a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability that allows attackers to inject malicious scripts into poll pages. An attacker can craft a malicious link that, when visited by a site visitor, executes JavaScript in the victim's browser. This can lead to session hijacking, credential theft, or defacement. The vulnerability requires user interaction—the victim must click the link or visit a compromised page.
