What the vulnerability does

01Description

The Login/Signup Popup ( Inline Form + Woocommerce ) plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's xoo_el_action shortcode in all versions up to, and including, 2.8.5 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user supplied attributes. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.

Explanation of Vulnerability in Simple Terms

02Summary

The Login & Register Customizer plugin for WordPress contains a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in versions up to 2.8.5. An authenticated user with low privileges can inject malicious scripts that execute in the browsers of other site users, potentially stealing session tokens, modifying page content, or performing actions on their behalf. The vulnerability affects the entire site scope due to how the plugin processes user input.
