What the vulnerability does
The The Events Calendar plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized access due to a missing capability check on the 'tec_qr_code_modal' AJAX endpoint in all versions up to, and including, 6.15.9. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to view draft event names and generate/view QR codes for them.
Explanation of Vulnerability in Simple Terms
The Events Calendar for WordPress contains an authorization flaw that allows authenticated users with low privileges to read sensitive event data they should not access. The vulnerability affects all versions up to 6.15.9. An attacker with a basic user account can view confidential event information without additional interaction.
