What the vulnerability does
The Quran Gateway plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 1.5. This is due to missing nonce validation in the quran_gateway_options function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify the plugin's display settings via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
Explanation of Vulnerability in Simple Terms
Quran Gateway versions 1.5 and earlier contain a cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability. An attacker can craft a malicious webpage that, when visited by a logged-in site administrator, performs unwanted actions on the site without their knowledge. The vulnerability requires the victim to visit the attacker's page while authenticated to the site.
