What the vulnerability does
The WP Youtube Video Gallery plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 1.0. This is due to missing nonce verification on the wpYTVideoGallerySettingSave() function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify plugin settings via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
Explanation of Vulnerability in Simple Terms
WP Youtube Video Gallery versions 1.0 and earlier are vulnerable to cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks. An attacker can craft a malicious webpage that, when visited by a logged-in site administrator, performs unwanted actions on the site without the admin's knowledge or consent. The vulnerability requires user interaction—the admin must visit the attacker's page while authenticated.
