What the vulnerability does
The Moderate Selected Posts plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 1.4. This is due to missing nonce verification on the msp_admin_page() function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify plugin settings via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
Explanation of Vulnerability in Simple Terms
Moderate Selected Posts versions 1.4 and earlier contain a cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability. An attacker can craft a malicious webpage that, when visited by a logged-in site administrator, performs unwanted actions on the site without the administrator's knowledge or consent. The vulnerability requires the victim to visit the attacker's page while authenticated.
