What the vulnerability does
The Branda plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to privilege escalation via account takeover in all versions up to, and including, 3.4.24. This is due to the plugin not properly validating a user's identity prior to updating their password. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to change arbitrary user's passwords, including administrators, and leverage that to gain access to their account.
Explanation of Vulnerability in Simple Terms
Branda – White Label & Branding and Free Login Page Customizer versions up to 3.4.24 contain a critical vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to read sensitive data, modify site content, or disrupt service without any user interaction. The vulnerability stems from improper authorization controls. All users should update immediately to a version newer than 3.4.24.
