What the vulnerability does
The Shield: Blocks Bots, Protects Users, and Prevents Security Breaches plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Insecure Direct Object Reference in all versions up to, and including, 21.0.9 via the MfaGoogleAuthToggle class due to missing validation on a user controlled key. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to disable Google Authenticator for any user.
Explanation of Vulnerability in Simple Terms
Shield version 21.0.9 and earlier contains an authorization flaw that allows authenticated users to modify data they should not have access to. An attacker with a low-privilege account can alter information through the application's network interface without user interaction. The vulnerability affects the integrity of stored data but does not expose sensitive information or cause service disruption.
