Explanation of Vulnerability in Simple Terms
Smart Custom Fields versions up to 5.0.0 contain a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability. An authenticated user with low privileges can inject malicious scripts into custom fields. When other users view pages containing these fields, the scripts execute in their browsers, potentially allowing the attacker to steal session tokens, modify page content, or perform actions on their behalf. The vulnerability requires user interaction—victims must visit a page displaying the affected field.
