What the vulnerability does
The WP Online Users Stats plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 1.0.0. This is due to missing nonce validation within the hk_dataset_results() function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious web scripts via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
Explanation of Vulnerability in Simple Terms
WP Online Users Stats versions 1.0.0 and earlier are vulnerable to cross-site request forgery (CSRF). An attacker can craft a malicious webpage that, when visited by a logged-in site administrator, performs unwanted actions on the site without the admin's knowledge or consent. The vulnerability requires the admin to visit the attacker's page while authenticated to the WordPress site.
