What the vulnerability does
The Tutor LMS – eLearning and online course solution plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Sensitive Information Exposure in all versions up to, and including, 3.8.3. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with tutor-level access and above, to view assignments for courses they don't teach which may contain sensitive information.
Explanation of Vulnerability in Simple Terms
Tutor LMS versions up to 3.8.3 contain an access control flaw that allows authenticated users to read sensitive information they should not have access to. A logged-in user with low privileges can view confidential data by exploiting improper permission checks. The vulnerability requires valid site credentials but no additional user interaction. Update to a version newer than 3.8.3 to resolve this issue.
