What the vulnerability does
The Side Slide Responsive Menu plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 1.0. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on a function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to update settings and inject malicious web scripts via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
Explanation of Vulnerability in Simple Terms
Side Slide Responsive Menu versions 1.0 and earlier are vulnerable to cross-site request forgery (CSRF). An attacker can craft a malicious webpage that, when visited by a logged-in site administrator, performs unwanted actions on the site without their knowledge. The vulnerability requires the victim to visit the attacker's page while authenticated to the WordPress site.
