What the vulnerability does
The cForms – Light speed fast Form Builder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 3.0.0. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the cforms_api function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify forms and their settings via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
Explanation of Vulnerability in Simple Terms
cForms – Light speed fast Form Builder versions 3.0.0 and earlier are vulnerable to cross-site request forgery (CSRF). An attacker can craft a malicious webpage that, when visited by a logged-in site administrator, performs unwanted actions on the form builder without the admin's knowledge or consent. The vulnerability requires the victim to visit the attacker's page while authenticated.
